With all the sites, like LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter, that focus on online networking, it's interesting to see a new site that's geared to personal networking.
MeetingWave is similar concept in similar to MeetUp where you can find people who have something in common and meet them in person. However, MeetUp is based on group meetings, while MeetingWave is based on invitations - you specify exactly who you’d like to meet, post an invite, and accept or reject requests based on your own preferences.
MeetingWave's goal, from a job searching perspective, is to help job seekers arrange face-to-face meetings with new people to expand their business and social networks. Meeting people in person is definitely a good way to enhance your job search. Referrals are still the top way people get jobs, be it online referral or a personal one.
